At the End of Year Awards Presentation night I was awarded the Brentwood Karting Recognition Award.
Back in October 2021 I signed up to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award at school. In order to complete this I needed to complete a Physical Challenge, learn a new Skill (which is how I started making this website) & then Volunteer my time. I asked Dan if I could Volunteer my time coaching in the Development Club every Thursday.
After my 6 months of volunteering was complete, I really didn't want to stop, so asked if I could stay and carry it on, Dan was overjoyed at the thought of having me permanently hanging around! I really enjoyed watching the progress that was being made by new people coming through the ranks, some of which I now have the pleasure to race against.
This was what was said on the night.....
Who would have known that Dan had so many nice things to say about me? It was a complete surprise to me to receive the award and one which I'm immensely proud of. I will always be there to offer a hug to anyone whether they have had a good or bad race!

Recently I was asked by one of the cadets that I have been coaching at Development Club if I would do a 1-2-1 session with him. Below is a bit of a snapshot of the video I put together for him, showing areas he could improve and work on (I haven't told them all of our secrets Zack, don't worry!).
Zack started out the same way as I did at Brentwood by going through Development Club and is hoping to join the League this season, where I have no doubt that he will be fighting for wins in no time at all, this lad is a star.
