We are back again for Round 9 of the Championship and things are really starting to heat up in the closing stages of this one.
I had a really good Quali session and on the way back round to Paddock I had to rescue Ben Hamilton, who's kart had cut out on track, so I pushed him back round to the pits and then found out that I had Pole position, which was a nice reward for my efforts!
I got a really good launch off of the line at the start of Heat 1, lead going into the first corner and stayed there for the remainder of the Heat, winning by over 4 seconds. It's always a nice way to start off the weekend with a win.
Heat 2 I was starting P13 due to the penalty for winning the first heat. I didn't really make too much progress in the first couple of laps of the race as people were battling in front of me and it was just safer to hang back for a few laps before making progress through the pack. In the end the best I could manage was P2 but was more than happy with the result on the day.
With the Heat results on the day I was starting pole for the A Final. Again, I got a really good launch off the line and had Mikey right on me going into the first corner but I held my line and stayed in the lead of the race, claiming another win for the Championship, number 3 of the Season.
This week was special round at Brentwood where the winner won a special prize. The winning Cadet, Senior & Super League winners receive a tour of Ferrari Works Racing Team, FF Corse. We will be spending the day at the Ferrari Racing Workshop looking behind the scenes and in the afternoon will be assisting the team who will be testing at Silverstone in the afternoon. Watch out for my report on the day, I CAN'T wait!
