Today was the All Star Cup Final and Presentation Day for the season at Brentwood Karting & was totally overwhelmed when I won the Rising Star Award.
It took a bit of time for the news to sink in. For me since joining Race League I have learnt so much but it hasn't always come easy, I think that starting out Karting in the Winter was a big benefit to me, although at the time when I was spinning out at most corners I was wondering what the hell I was doing there on Sunday mornings at the back of the pack all of the time.
The past season had some real highlights for me, not just in the League but on a Thursday night practice session, I was getting nearer and nearer the front all the time and in the end secured my first Advanced Session WIN! Before then I never really seemed to make my way past the 3rd Step, but that win gave me real confidence and from then on started realising that I could actually fight at the front.
My Champagne spraying 100% needs more practice!
Big thank you to all the Race Marshalls & Race Director Dan Lee for the vote of confidence, I honestly believe that this will be the start of a great season for me.
